Remove the ranks and the unlockable **** and the air raids and *** **** and this game could be good.

Yeah, I figured they'd add that in as a "special feature" to lure new gamers, but at the end of the day with things like PAM that can always be disabled. No worries my sheep....the Father expected this information to be as such posted by Azimov.

I think crysis can be played in dx9 too, if it was dx10 only then that company would get raped because like +80% comp users can't play games in dx10.
Making it dx10 only wouldn't be the smartest marketing move to do.

Yeah this game wont suck supposedly its all customizable so you disable the perks and the ranks and everything so competitive play wont suck im actually excited now just gotta make sure i have the money for it the day it comes out

You're right, it wouldn't be the smartest move, but right now, so i've heard, they're doing all their testing with dx10.
Either way, I was more refering to dx10 being vista exclusive, and not crysis being vista exclusive. I'm sure they'll put out vista and xp versions, but if they're working with vista all day, the xp version might be a little glitchy... and who knows if they'll use dx8, or dx7 as the backup instead of dx9.

AMD64 3200+
1 Gig Ram
GeForce 6800gt
was thinking about upgrading to a 3800+ X2
i found a place i can get one for 140 - 150 bucks
would that run CoD4? with same ram and gfx card?

Maps should be between UO big maps and CoD2 maps. CoD2 was too small. ****, and I mean absolutely **** set nades right from the start. What a retarded flaw that is.
And why wouldn't you be worried? What kind of support did CoD2 get that makes you think CoD4 will get fixes and adjustments?
Any other news on it though? I like that they can revert back to stock and take away upgrades/ranks, etc. Sounds interesting. I'm still bumping a 1.1 ghz... 1.5 gig RAM... 9600XT. woo!

i'm really thinking this game is gonna suck ballz .. cus when the makers of cod try to improve things... they don't have a good track record of not **** it up...
granted UO wasn't made by the same people but i thought it added a lot of useless crap that wasn't needed. the new maps were cool.. but sprint ... that was lame
cod2 was fun when it came out... and it still is to a certain extent... the problem with the game is it's too easy to play and way easier to EXPLOIT with jump shots and bad registration
the whole move to a more modern cod is a good idea and could be fresh but I'm betting all we're gonna see is a mod of CoD2 with new weapons and maps.... at least I hear they are taking out the jump shot.. i like that cus ... from the words of the Gobbler.. "it makes bad kids good." I'm not too worried about the whole shooting through walls thing... If anyone has ever played CS or Source u know that it's not a problem.. u get used to it pretty quickly.. and actually the wall (if the game is made right) should subtract damage from the bullets
what would be impressive is if they fixed their **** laggy netcode which has been laggy since vCoD
I get 20-30 pings on server in CSS in the same location as Cod2 servers with 50-80... that's just ridiculous.. they need to shrink the packet size.
and I seriously doubt that they will have or make an effective anti-cheat.... I'm sick these people just giving up on games and not offering a bit of support after they are released... too busy working on the console version.. or the "new and improved CoD5"
this new pb is a joke... the only thing they did was make it so it scans more.. using up more of ur system resources

so in closing.... CoD4 could be a good game but i'm very skeptical... i'm sure it will be fun when it first comes out no matter what but in the end we'll be **** by infinity ward yet again

We share many of the same concerns, but if you read through the leadership forums, TWL is working on a comprehensive Anti Cheat program (from the ground up) that will work for most (all?) games, and should be ready by CoD4's release. They've been working on it for awhile now, and it's near ready:

Plus CAL has new AC out. And there have been talks in that Leadership thread (TWL) that players could donate money to help support an updated AC to combat the updated hacks. Of course, this sucks that we'd have to pay more just to play the game. But then again, look at it this way. I bought the game for $50 bucks, and have suffered through 2+ years of good and **** times, plagued with cheaters. If I had paid $100 bucks from the start to have a cheat free environment, I damn well would have done it. If everyone pitches in a buck or two every couple weeks/month (consider it like a cheap server cost), then we can keep up with a large chunk of the hacks, hopefully. And if they really take out that jump shooting thing, I'll have a boner long enough to put Viagra to shame. All natural, baby.
