I think by far the moist poignant advice ever given to me was by my Grandfather, while I perched atop his knee.
At the time he was sat in an exquisite oak chair, the Financial Times in one hand, while the other firmly gripped a generous serving of port. The days stock prices were gently rolling to the floor by means of ticker tape when he looked down to me, a wondrous knowing in his eyes, and with a sigh imparted the wisdom: "Bullets to our nuts only make them fatter."
